Comments Thread For: Cordoba Already Close To Fight Weight For Rigondeaux

Ricardo "El Maestrito" Córdoba is training for the fight of his life in Miami, Florida. After leaving the gym on Wednesday, Cordoba weighed 124-pounds, only two pounds above the weight for his scheduled fight with Guillermo "El Chacal" Rigondeaux. The fight takes place on the November 13 undercard to Manny Pacquiao-Antonio Margarito at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The interim WBA super bantamweight title belt will be at stake.

Looks like he over-trained. How is he going to maintain that weight for the next 3 plus weeks? I had rigo by 9th KO, but I'll move that up to 6th round in light of this.

Wow I remember watching him debut like a year ago or some **** now he's about to fight for an interim title? Good **** Rigondeaux...

I really think this is a quick KO. Might be the shortest fight on the entire card.

"Maestrito" Cordoba is a very good fighter with good boxing skills & could ****..Other than Rojas, Cordoba is the is the other fighter that BEAT the "MOST FEARED FIGHTER" at jr feather & featherweight Celestino"Pelechin" Caballero!!! He even scored a knockdown against Caballero!! But the last time that Cordoba fought at 122lbs was over a year ago against Bernard Dunn in a all out WAR where Cordoba had gone down in the 3rd & Dunn twice in the 5th.. & for that fight Cordoba struggled to make the weight & even thou he was ahead in the 11th round, Cordoba's legs gave out & went down 3 times, more out exhaustion than anything else..Cordoba had to be taken out in a stretcher..& Cordoba's last 3 fights have been in the featherweight(126lbs) division..So if this fight was at featherweight(126LBS) I would give Cordoba the edge just on his skills & experience as a PROFESSIONAL.. But fighting at jr featherweight & ONLY 2 pounds over THE LIMIT with more than 3 weeks till the fight, that DOESN'T SOUND GOOD... & if Cordoba keeps it up at this pace, by the time fightime comes Cordoba ain't going to have any legs & if the fight goes beyond 6 rounds he's DONE!!!
