    Your first fight

Well when I first started amateur fighting my very first fight was for this fundraiser at an Irish American club in Lowell, Ma this kid was the AAU champion and he kicked my ass for 2.5 rounds haha but I came back and knocked him out with a nice body shot with about 15 seconds left in the fight! It was great I spent the whole time chasing him around the ring as he jabbed and combo'd me quite a few times, lucky for me I learned that night I have a pretty strong chin and some great power. I won the fight and at the end one of the judges came up to me and said son you know it's not illegal to move your head right? I just laughed and went and bought my opponent a coke! Tell me about your first fight!

for my first fight i was fighting a guy who had like 5 fights so he had a bit experience one me, it was a very close fight in which i lost because i got 3 standing counts (allthough i was never shaken).

in the last round he had me against the ropes, than i hit him flush under the chin with a left uppercut and he fell on me, (and he didnt even get a standing count) but i was to exhausted to finish him.

it was i wild slugfest in which i lost by a small margin.

I fought a kid at an outdoor show (Philadelphia), in June of '87. It was at 135lbs. I was pushing 6' (yeah, anorexic), & the kid I fought was a stocky bull-type.
I couldn't miss him with my jab for the first two rounds. He made ZERO contact with me, until after I nailed him with what felt like a perfect bomb of a right at the end of the second. He barely moved & sunk a hefty shot into my gut. I have to admit, hitting him with that & getting nothing but blasted in return kinda shook me up.
I don't know if it was nerves, the body shot...whatever, but I came out for the third totally spent....couldn't punch. Thank god I had good movement. He worked me over towards the end of the round (****in' felt like an eternity).....but nothing significant got me.
I won the decision, but felt bad inside....because I don't know what happened. I didn't get happy until I got home, where there was a party for me (combo fight & high school grad party)

What stands out about it all, more than the fight...was how I felt walking to the ring. I must have had 25-30 friends, family, & gym-mates cheering for me. But I heard none of it, saw none of them. There was just this surreal feeling running thorugh me, & a real buzz in my head.

I won a five round decision 49-41. I knocked my opponent down 5 times (twice in the fifth round). However he hit me with some good shots and I'm pretty sure that he landed a lot more than I did, but he just couldn't stay on his feet. I learned that I could take a pretty good punch and stay on my feet.

The best moment of the fight was one time he hit me and dazed me and then starting landing a combination on me. He was definately scoring big, but then I hit him with one right hook and he was down. The crowd of like 20 went crazy.

It takes balls to fight amateur....bcause a lot of the times you have no clue who you're going to fight.
I was only told to go to a gym/venue to fight most of the time, that was it.
I remember always scanning the place, trying to figure out who I might fight.

I was always in the same situation there is nothing worse than not knowing who you are going to fight, I mean not like it would make a difference but it's always better to know. Thats the only reason why I dont want to continue fighting amateur I dont like the pace, I dont like the styles and I just want to really fight not like in that amateur ****! Sorry all you amateur fighters out there no offense I just like pro fighting so much more.

i was at a tourney (martial arts) and i was so accustomed to straight muay thai that i thought training to defend against flashy spin kicks are a joke...well...first fight..bam..spin kick and i was doing the wobbly leg thing...the ref jumped in but that was straight up embarassing...lol
