Can't take much from a 20 second sparring clip. They may have been working on something in specific (that led to margarito eating all those punches lol)
Actually u can depending on the video. I saw Margarito being hit with a clean shot and didn't even move his head or reacted to it. That means he didn't even knew he was gonna be hit before he was. Pretty bad sign. Usually shot fighters are like that, either they can't get out of the way in time or they can't pull the trigger. I saw a bit of both in that short clip. Great fighters in their prime take advantage of every opening and see everything coming. Great examples: Roy and Floyd in their primes. Even a slugger will react to an incoming punch so please spare me the "it's his style" speech.
I don't think Margarito is shot at all. He was at his absolute peak against Cotto and sure that fight and the Mosely destruction would have taken something out of him.... However, he is clearly in shape at an ideal weight for him and looking to put the past behind him.
This is a very interesting fight. Also... it's only 20 second guys. This could be the 12th round of his sparring that day against a fresh partner for all you know.

Let's be real- avoiding punches was never Margarito's specialty. It might be that he thinks he can just absorb punches and walk through them like he did Cotto, who gave Antonio a master boxing lesson and landed absolute bombs for about 7 rounds. If that's the case, then the biggest question is does Pac have the speed/power at 150ish to hurt/stop Margarito at 160-165?
If he can't hurt Margs significantly, then it might not even matter since Pac has endless stamina and will be moving all night and won't gas out. So we'll see starting Sat what the full story is (if they showcase Marg's sparring sessions).
Surprisingly short and accurate counter right hand from Tony @ the 13 second mark. Then soon after it looks like he actually tries to a pull counter, when his sparring partner follows up with another jab, but he eats it and misses the counter. I hope this isn't indicative of Margarito planning to counter Pac. If it is, he could be in for a long, long night.

Yup, I saw the same exact thing. Figure that's what they were working on- timing and countering with the right. But Margarito doesn't have the speed/reflexes to have that work on his sparring partner, what hope does he have against Pac?
This might end up being a brutal, one-sided throbbing ala DLH.
Who is he sparring? Looks like he's getting manhandled
Maybe they were working on something specific like timing and right hand counters, but judging from that short video alone... Pacquiao TKO 6
Maybe getting exposed as a cheat then flattened by Mosley , a poor last fight and a long forced layoff says Margo is washed up , ever think of that ,,, oh no Manny is involved so Margo must be this fire breathing dragon lol
, Margo is a slow ****** out over the hill average fighter , and his pay check comes from Mannys boss , you dont have to be real bright to see the big hole in this fight .
