Any fight that takes place between 148-154 pounds is a junior Middleweight fight thats a rule. What is not a rule is this misguided notion that championship boughts have to take place at the max weight of a weight class.

Please show me where that rule is located oh thats right it doesnt exist!

I know why I can't wait for this fight, it's because it's a Pacquiao fight and Pacquiao fights have that David vs. Goliath aspect to it. I know Pacquiao is a bigger man now but I still see him as the featherweight taking on the bigger guy.

No rule saying it doesn't exist,Pistol!!But 150 is not the weightclass & it is indeed a catchweight!!154 is also not an original weightclass,it was made later for fighters that were too big for 147 & not quite big enough for 160!!But since U say that 148-54 is jr welter, then why bother having 154 to begin with??Why not specify jr middle as 148-154??

And Mak,150 is a catchweight regardless of what U say!!

Agree with the TS, It's a great fight and it couldn't have been huge on it's own merit. but to be a title fight at a catchweight against a fighter who hasn't earned a title shot is bull****.

It would be more acceptable(not by much) for Pac to win his 8th title against Cotto, simply cause Cotto actually fought for the title and won it.

not saying it isnt a catchweight...but my question to you is; which division does 150lbs fall under?

your argument is that PAC has never fought at JMW...perhaps you meant to say he's never fought at the JMW limit

Absolutely, the limit,I was being sarcastic the 1st time out, don't know if U read that or not,but then puga attacked me so I retaliated!!But technically Pacman still hasn't fought at jrw, since the fight isn't for another month!!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Williams-Martinez II also a title fight at a catchweight? If so, where is the similar outrage?

It is a catchweight title fight, between the middleweight champion of the world & the Punisher!!Pac-Margarito is the pfp king vs a disgraced cheater at a catchweight for a vacant title, remember where U heard it 1st!!

Manny Pacquiao vs Top Jr. Middleweights[List]

In my opinion Pacquiao can stay at Jr. Middleweights. Pacquiao can beat them all.

                      P4P #1 Manny Pacquiao 51(38)-3(2)-2
