it's been explained before more than enough times, hopkins had a NC in their first fight, won the rematch, and allen WORKED his way back to a title shot for their 3rd fight. all the while hopkins was on a streak and looking to set the middleweight title defense record.

and if you think that taylor whooped hopkins in either of their fights you don't know anything about the science of boxing and have uneducated eyes when it comes to what is really happening in the ring, you also must have let hbo's commentating dictate how you saw the fight, taylor was the only one hurt in their fights and had damage, not hopkins. taylor could've ran the whole fight and hbo would be talking about the biggest beating of all time. taylor was a hbo cash cow brought up by dibella, major hbo money invested in taylor, dibella and hbo hated hopkins, there was no way hbo commentating or the establishment would've given hopkins a fair shake in their fights.

again, the only reason hopkins has had high profile fights was because he held the belts. he was no media darling like all the other high profile boxers in his era, he did it by himself and he did it fighting all his mandatories so they wouldn't and couldn't strip him of his negotiating leverage........... his ****ing belts......

hopkins would gain no more than 10lbs between fights......... ever, it would be rare if he was 12-14lbs over from his fighting weight.
