Why is that? [click this effin' thread]

Boxers usually get the commentating job. For the exception of Big George, why is that they like to have pure boxers like Roy Jones Jr and Sugar Ray Leonard do commentating?

I mean I recently read the Mayweather Jr. interview where he's trash talking Zab Judah and he talks about how he wants to be a commentator and stuff after he is done with boxing. Anyone see that as a good possibility considering he is a boxer?

I guess it's because boxers know best about boxing. They could get some retired fireman as well but I don't think people would take them serious (Roy would).

Seriously, if you've been in the game for some time you're expected to know all the lil secrets and to see what's going on from a fighters perspective.

And all of these guys have given a lot to boxing so it's just fair that boxing gives em sth. back.

I think Mayweather would be a very good commentator. I also think Hopkins would do well too.

Floyd and Zab stutter a WHOLE bunch when they talk. They would be terrible commentators.

LOL Zab tries to be just like Floyd in trash-talking but he sucks horribly at it.
