is boxing the sport that most exploits its own atheletes.

I'm an amateur boxer and i find it funny how, I don't get paid ****, and I'm traveling to far places and doing galas. I'm risking injury, and paying for food to get there, skipping work and training my ass of everyday,500$ a year for gym membership and 100$ for a boxing passport. Yet the gyms organizing it charge 20$ per person are making all that money, yet they are not the ones sweating, getting hurt and bleeding. I'm not complaining about me not getting paid, however I think the galas should be free. I feel like I'm being exploited each time I go for a fight. Like I wouldn't mind if everything was free but I'm paying to go fight. Least I could get is a free boxing passport.

Even in professional boxing the managers make alot of money even though they sit on their ****in ass and do nothing.

well I understand your point, but understand this too: gym owners need to pay rent and bills too, and they gotta eat. Boxing is not the sorta sport like baseball where parents are standing in line to put their children to that career. So boxing officianados try to make money however they can.

I guess but boxers need more support, it's sad how financially straining it can be and alot of boxers aren't really rich to begin with.

Don't get a manager or promoter once you go pro. You will see that they do alot more than nothing.

Almost all sports are like that in the beginning. Before you get to high school if you want to pay baseball you got to pay to be on a team and you got to come out of pocket for travel. Same thing for basketball. Even then you got to raise money for things like uniform, etc.

Amateur boxing is the same. Unfortunately over here in the US there isn't to many top notch boxing programs no more.

There just isnt much money to make unless you make it big in boxing

My friend Andrey Tsurkan fought and beat Hector Camacho Jr. and also fought Yuri Foreman, Augulo and Martirosyan yet he had to keep a second jobs as a personal trainer

your an AMATEUR boxer.... your not supposed to be getting paid. Your supposed to being doing it because you WANT to do it.

They only offer amatuer boxing as a sport because kids WANT to do it and its good for them.

The owners of the gym are providing you a huge service. They teach you how to fight and supply you with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of equiptment for your use. Hence the payment

What your saying makes absolutely zero sense...

Top amateurs get paid but regular amateurs dont. Like someone said earlier, the Gym owners and trainers have bills to pay. It cost to sanction amateur fights and to rent rings and have medical assistance on standby.
