Briggs v klitschko a fix?

I'm not playing down the win but jesus christ if you where going to fight either brother would you just stand infront of them and occassionaly throw a weak jab?

Errrr, Briggs is in the hospital in very bad shape. I doubt if it was a "fix" that he would be taking that kind of punishment.

What would you do? your too old to use your legs and take advantage of VK's somewhat robotic style, yet if you put pressure on him your playing into his hands as he is a better counter puncher.

You can't throw a jab because both brothers enjoy every single physical advantage possible over all of their opponents. Why try to land a weak jab when you are going to eat a right hand for your efforts?

All the comments posted are fair enough, i was just very dubious watching the fight.

Its not as easy as it looks trying to land cleanly on Vitali while he a huge man with power can land cleanly on you. It does something to the mentality of opponents in there with him, they become confused and tentative plodding forward because they are not sure what to do.

I actually thought Briggs's strategy was somewhat right. He cant go out there swinging like crazy and just lunging at Vitali, thats what Vitali wants. Vitali when he is forced to be on the offensive can at times expose his chin to counter left or rights. The punch in the 11th was Shannon's best shot. Vitali justnever overly exposed himself and seemed concious of Cannons power. I mean Vit didnt throw many combos and just beat on Shannon and punished him for everything. You cant run at Vitali flailing rights.

Also I thought it was good strategy to work on the body, however, he took way too much punishment to get that done.

All around I thought he had a decent prefight game plan, problem is, when you get in that ring and the other guys punches are rattling your dome...all that is hard to execute.

briggs is never going to be the same after the beating he took. i'd be shocked if he ever fights again.
his face is going to have to at least heal, if not undergo surgery
and additionally he would have to take plenty of time to heal from the beating he took

i hope they payed him handsomely
if i'm ever at a card and its announced that briggs is in the audience i'm gonna cheer and then seek him out to tell him how much i appreciate his career
