Comments Thread For: Jeff Mayweather Talks Pacquiao-Margarito, Floyd, More

While it goes without saying that the Mayweathers are an outlandish bunch, lost within the conversation is just how articulate and insightful Uncle Jeff can be when speaking about the boxing world and life in general. The former IBO junior lightweight champion can be found on a daily basis training his core group of fighters in the Las Vegas area and always has something to say when asked for his take on any developments within the sport.

ugly old floyd may disagree with jeff about a lopsided win of pacman over marga-resto...

for ugly old floyd, marga-resto will win without even having trained...never will ugly old floyd say pac has a chance to win against the plaster king...

Good points by Jeff. I totally agree with him on Cotto. That sucks too cause I like watching Cotto fight, but against any elite fighter right now I think Cotto loses. He was dead on about Berto. I don't know what that kid's deal is but he really needs to step his game up. His resume as a welterweight champion is pathetic. If he wanted to really make some noise he would rematch Collazo and put a beating on him to show that the first fight was an off night. But he'll probably keep fighting no names or smaller fighters for the next couple of years. The time to pounce on Shane Mosley is now, so Berto should try to make that fight after this next one and not price himself out.

Wow, Very single thing was on point IMO, The bit about Cotto, Berto and even JMM and the more reason why Jeff gets more respect among the Mayweathers....

Waoh!!! A Mayweather with a brain, good to see. Much respect fo Jeff.

That said, Jeff I think your boy Caballero is also overrated. Cotto has definitely lost a step but he beats 98% of the guys out there.

Good points by Jeff. I can see Paul Williams losing this fight ( huge PW fan from GA) if he fights like he did last year. Althought I do think the pac fight will be interesting for the size difference and maybe the power.

Like the interview. Jeff thoughts were on point for the most part
and a good read. I think after the Zab Judah win that Cotto mostly
struggled or lost to the elite or formidable guys at 147. A fighter
he cannot hurt or pressure will always cause problems for him.

As much as I like Roger as a trainer he has the foulest mouth on the planet. He can't say a full sentence without saying mother****er at least 3 or 4 times. Jeff, on the other hand is much more articulate and pleasing to listen to. Floyd Jr should try to immulate him instead of his Roger.
