    Lacy, Calzaghe or Kessler?

168 FINALLY THE "SUPER" MIDDLEWEIGHT DIVISION!

LACY AND CALZAGHE HEAD TOWARDS HISTORY!

July 22, 1984 likely doesn't come to mind when recalling the most significant dates in boxing history, but for Jeff Lacy and Joe Calzaghe it is the beginning of a journey that will culminate when the two of them face off in the first week of November. On that day, Chong-Pal Park knocked out Murray Sutherland in the 11th round and gave birth to the super middleweight (168 lb) championship. The lineage of that title continued unbroken until Bruno Girard vacated the title in 2001 sending a shockwave through the sport befitting the question, "What in the hell is a super middleweight?"

Hey, you know I have to be pulling for Jeff Lacy to beat Calzaghe and unify the title. And plus, it would be great if Kessler and Beyer met, and then the winners of the latter tow matcges could meet up next year for a Super Unification Bout!!! That would be crazy!!! A battle of the big guns for Super Middleweight supremacy. I can't wait!!!

Agree that there is the potential to make some really great unification fights at SM and after that there will still be a number of credible opponents for the champion to face.
But lets first see if the Calzaghe Lacy fight takes place as the start of this unification game. I doubt that a fight between Beyer and Kessler will take place since there will simply be to big a risk of Beyer losing. So i doubt Beyer and Sauerland will invite Kessler to come to Germany because they know Kessler is the man at 168 (Ottke didn't want any part of him either).

I doubt Kessler/Beyer as well, but I think cal-Lacy is definitely on.

Lacy will bull his way over Calzaghe. But not the 6'2 Kessler who has boxing skills and reach.

Indeed; Kessler could actually pick up a following in the US based on the half torso tattoo of his alone; add on toughness and you got something. Suspect power though

I see lot of flaws in Jeff Lacy...one dimensional IMO

I think once he fights a boxer he will lose, I ain't hating, I chose Lacy to KO Reid in round 6...

I think he will finish Calzaghe in 5...
