A source close to the negotiations has advised BoxingScene.com that a deal is very close to being finalized for a light heavyweight unification between WBA champion Beibut Shumenov (10-1, 6KOs) and WBO counterpart Juergen Braehmer (36-2, 29KOs). Both the WBO and the WBA have reportedly approved the fight to move forward. No exact details on the location, or date, have been disclosed. Shumenov's promoter Dan Goossen was unavailable for comment.
