You are doing fine as well David, are you writing for any newspaper?
Cong**** Ryan, way to go pare.
(Journalism's the day job, on topics other than boxing. And thank you, I appreciate those kind words.)
What Ryan has done is the kind of thing other younger (or newer) boxing writers should look at: He read a lot to get a better idea of what works well in writing (but did not copy or mimic what he read). He wrote article after article after article to keep improving his craft. He did not get discouraged, and kept doing this even though writing is often a thankless task. And he has not been afraid to keep looking for ways to improve. We're an ego-driven lot, and while Ryan's long been good, he's still got the drive.
Sorry for the gushing. Like I said... I'm very proud.
What I love about this arrangement is that I'm giving front page exposure to a very talented fighter who otherwise wouldn't have gotten the recognition from his community that he deserves.
Dang, the kids only 23 and he already has 4 kids? That's a hell of a lot of incintive for him right there... and a lot of work in itself. Hopefully he doesn't get too tired before his fights lol.
Great job Ryan! Don't forget to keep gracing us with your writings here on BS.
Yep excellent job some boxers really deserve more exposure to get them known and people talking about them.. helping them build a home fan base.
I agree completely. I love how writers like Bernard Fernandez, Keith Idec and Don Stewart meticulously cover and support their hometown fighters. The media needs to chronicle these guys on a consistent basis and that's what I hope to accomplish.
Well done mate, My granddad used to be the Sports editor for the News of The World, Manchester Evening news and another local paper in Manchester. I have got loads of boxing programs with all his writes ups in from the sixties, its pretty cool looking back at the articles he wrote.
make sure you keep them all..
Great man, so you understand how much of a pride thing this is. My house is cluttered with newspapers lol.

Thank you David for the kind words, as well as all the advice all these years. I knew writing was my thing because I was so intrinsically motivated for this all along. They say that you should do what you would be doing even if you weren't being paid.
