Yeah, pretty much how I look at it.

There are a bunch of varying theories as to when Tony started "using plaster", some of which contradict themselves and all of which can be questioned/challenged validly.

Some say it started after Williams. But it's not like Tony didn't have a record for inflicting gruesome damage or rearranging opponents' features - look at the freakish mess he made of Lujan's ear. So then there are the ones who say that it goes back further than Williams, that he's been loading his whole career...you'd have to think it highly unlikely he could've pulled that off, like you said.

at what point do you think they started and what is your validation?

when they say after Pwill I kindly tell them that he has knocked out every welter he faced with the exception of fighters who have never been dropped

when they say since Capetillo I ask them why then do others who have trained under Capetillo do not possess the same face altering punches

then I tell them that as bad a job as was done on the pads for the Mosley fight you would think that if a team had been doing this all along would have their act together to make it look very profession yet from all accounts and the pics CSAC had you could tell it was sloppily done.

people refuse to see the other side. I do and understand this was an atrocious act and understand people's anger. However, there are holes in the theories they present and that's what I am trying to express

And for those who ask why Cintron wasn't disfigured or this guy or that guy - y'know, some guys' faces just hold up better to being punched...and Cotto's face was actually being tattooed over the course of that fight.


LOL, I'm just trying to reconcile my conscience with continuing to support Margarito. While I like a lot of things about the guy and his ring-character (and his style), I realize that certain personal impressions you have of a guy can sway you into seeing the best in him in any scenario, and I don't actually want to be pulling for a fighter who knowingly went out with some illegal advantage in his gloves.

In my heart, I've always thought he was innocent of any wrongdoing prior to Mosley. Actually got angry with a few guys who disowned him here in the months after the Mosley deal (had a bitter PM argument with 'Johnny Chingas' over it, haha). But I'm trying to look at it as clinically as I can and be sure I'm seeing it as close as possible to how it is, and not just seeing it how I'd like to see it.
