Excerpt from an article published back in April when Briggs was attempting to land a world title fight with David Haye:

Briggs branded both Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko “boring” and says they only want to fight the Londoner because he is much smaller.

Briggs, who has been stopped twice in 56 fights, said in a statement: “David, I’ve been in this game a long time. Before you waste a lot of your precious time on them, please just realise that you don’t have to be at the mercy of the Klitschkos.

"I’ve already gone down that road and been tortured by the games they play. You give them every advantage they want and they just keep backing out. Don’t waste your time.

“You are a proven and legitimate heavyweight champion now. You beat Nikolai Valuev and now John Ruiz. Let’s you and me have a real, action-packed heavyweight title fight. I’d love to go Europe and fight you.”

Briggs, not currently ranked in the top 10 by any of the four major organisations, added: “The Klitschkos hurt the division with their safety-first styles. Neither one of them put it on the line.

"The fans want to see knockouts. We don’t have to deal with the Klitschkos hand-picking opponents and fighting only in Germany with their boring styles.”

I agree with Briggs. Wald should go back to his old all out offensive day. Ever since he hooked up with Stewart I no longer am interest watching his fight anymore. Vitali on the other hand is doing ok, he's not that defensive. The HW is very poor right now that Wald can probably destroy every opponent like he used too. Wald had one of the most amazing left hook back in the day.

I agree about Wlad in a way. He wants to win every fight but at times he is way to disciplined and cautious if he fought with more flair and aggression i think he would have more fans. I would rather a fighter have plenty of defeats on his record but be exciting to watch rather than few defeats but rather dull. One thing you can’t take away from Wlad is the fact that no one in about 5 years has come close to beating him.

i agree to a certain extent, i expect a seek and destroy mission when watching boxing and if it isnt that i critique things a bit harshly.

i do not expect a master of ones craft in this sport to come out swinging away like a tough man comeptition with his chin up like the worst amateur ever............ with that being said, if they aren't going for the kill, especially heavyweights and the slow action, yeah it hurts boxing................ obviously if hbo isnt liking what they're giving them in terms of viewer response and numbers, they gave them the benihana chop, like that.

This is the same Briggs that said a few weeks ago that the Klitschko's contracts are good and Haye is a chicken. Maybe Vit put a clause in the contract so Briggs couldn't say anything bad about it?
