    Floyd Mayweather is NOT undefeated!

    By Don Donatello

In their spite and jealousy, the Mayweather clan tries their best to derail the Pacquiao train. They accuse Manny Pacquiao of steroid use without providing a single iota of evidence. They lob profanity and racist rants toward Pacquiao and etc. One of their favorite mud to throw at Pacquiao is that he was knocked out twice.

Pacquiao was indeed knocked out twice early in his career. At both loses he didn’t make the contracted weight. Unlike Mayweather against Juan Manuel Marquez, Pacquiao could not pay off his opponent and come in heavy without being penalized. And unlike Mayweather, Pacquiao nearly killed himself trying to make weight. As a penalty for not making the weight, Pacquiao had to use bigger gloves than his opponent as a penalty.

In Pacquiao’s first KO lost, he went against Rustico Torrecampo. Pacquiao was one pound over the contracted weight, he was penalized and had to use bigger gloves than his opponent. The fight was at catchweight of 111 pounds, Pacquiao weighed in at 112.

Pacquiao’s body could no longer sustain 112, his body was growing. Against Medgoen Singsurat of Thailand, Pacquiao fought at 112. He couldn’t make 112 and came in one pound heavy at 113. Pacquiao was stopped in the 3rd round. With his body growing, in his very next fight he went to 122 and fought Reynante Jamili for the WBC International Super Bantamweight Title. He dispatched Jamili in two rounds.

The Mayweathers love to point up to Pacquiao’s two KO losses and drum up Floyd’s undefeated record. Pacquiao’s KO lost happened in 1996 and in 1999. Pacquiao’s other lost came at the hands of Erik Morales in their first fight in March of 2005. Pacquiao claim that they took blood for the test one day prior to the fight and that it had weakened him.

When it is pointed out that Pacquiao’s loss happened a long time ago, the Mayweathers say that it does not matter, Pacquiao lost and got KO’d twice and that’s that. What happened in the distant past to a boxer’s career, especially at the very early stage of it, does not have much bearing on who he is today. The Mayweathers don’t agree to that when it comes to Manny Pacquiao, a loss is still a loss.

OK, let’s agree that a loss is a loss and it does not matter how long ago it happened. The Mayweathers like to announce at every opportunity they have that Floyd Junior is undefeated. NO, he is not, Mayweather is not undefeated. In fact, Pacquiao has less losses than Floyd Mayweather. Pacquiao lost a total of 3 times in his entire career, Floyd lost 6 times in his. Floyd fought 90 times as an amateur boxer, he won 84 times with 6 loses.

The Mayweathers and their fans will claim that it was a long time ago and it was in Floyd’s amateur career. Pacquiao never had an amateur career that was documented. So Pacquiao’s early career could be equated to Floyd’s amateur record.

If we go with the Mayweather’s logic that it does not matter how long ago that the loss happened, we must include Floyd’s 6 loses that happened a long time ago to be fair. Floyd has 6 losses in his career so he is NOT undefeated. Pacquiao only has 3 losses on his record, and Pacquiao’s loses were at the hands of professionals and not amateurs.

i like any "PRO" boxing fan place emphasis on what happens in "PRO" boxing. In "PRO" boxing Floyd has not lost in 15 or so years.

"In their spite and jealousy" imediately lost this writer his credibility. Clearly shows bias. Could it not just be becuz they r rivals? No, it has to be becuz of their bitter spite and jealousy... Crappy article, didn't bother reading.
