Comments Thread For: Roy Jones Jr's Advice Helps British Fighter Register Big Win

Lincoln's budding welterweight hopeful Steve 'Stone Cold' Swinburn has revealed that he benefited from Roy Jones's ringside advice when registering a six-twos points win over Danny Dontchev at the Hotel de France, Jersey on Saturday night. Swinburn, now 2-0-1 (1), was given in-fight advice by Jones, who is in the midst of a UK tour and was ringside for the fight.

I hate whEn ppl say Roy jones should retire, don't watch the next fight!!Dont look him up!!just let it be..he is a boxer til he dies and thats final..why hate on him fighting, its not you in there!!WHAT DO YOU EXPECT from a fighter even after fight age..to become a bartender, bus driver, banker etc...There is alot of ego in them to look for money elsewhr..Their resume his boxing,so let them box til they can't no more!!

Finally, someone who sees it like me. Why should Roy retire. I love it when people tell other people how to live their lives. Imagine if I told my Dad, hey STOP golfing, your too old.

If you do not want to watch Roy, Evander, Hopkins, etc ... fight, then turn the damn TV off. More power to you Roy!

And, its America, if they get hurt, they know what's at stake. It's freedom of choice. As long as Roy, Hopkins and others are passing Doctors tests, then LET THEM FIGHT!

        thanks

Exactly how I see it. The same with Holyfield, JLC and countless other fighters who way past it but continues to fight. Even if they are past it, its their life and boxing is the thing they know best. Even if it's just for the money... So what? Boxing is the best thing they can do to earn money so why take that away from them? I mean what else they gonna do? Start workin a regular 9 to 5 job, hell nah... I'd rather see an absolutley shot to pieces old RJJ fight than not see him fight at all, he knows the risks so theres no need to feel sorry for him or tell him to reitre IMO.

Because boxing is a dangerous sport, If roy a 'hall of fame legend' was to get fatally hurt in a fight it refelcts bad on our great sport, anybody that wants to see roy keep fighting is thick in my opinion.

Golf is a million worlds away from boxing, I strongly suggest trying it out!
