He became that star after his toe to toe chess match against Mosley..and when Mayweather solidified his victory over Hatton...he retired..only to come back and fight Marquez..a GBP LW..

Well if Cotto was with GBP from the beginning I don't know if Cotto would have a top 2 WW in 07/08. GBP would of messed up his career along the way.

And, if he was with GBP and a top 2 fighter it is doubtful that the fight would of taken place anyways.

Floyd retired after Oscar, he only cameback to fight Hatton cuz Hatton said that his fight with Castillo had more entertaining than Floyd whole career. According to Ellerbe that is what made Floyd comeback to fight Hatton. After Hatton he retired again, so I just doubt Floyd was interested in fighting anybody in 08. He just wanted time off, the whole well is Arum thing is an excuse, a credible excuse, but still an excuse to not make that fight happen. He just wasn't going to fight Cotto in 08 no matter who Cotto promoter was. Not cuz he was scared or ducked him or whatever. But, he just had other plans other interest beyond boxing.

Another reason would they not have fought. Is IF Cotto was a top 2 WW and undefeated and promoted by GBP. It would be more than likely that Oscar would have wanted Cotto for himself and not let Floyd fight him first. It would have been a big money fight. And, no Margarito would have been in the way.

So no I see them not fighting at that time if Cotto was with GBP just for different reasons.

Uncle Snob only gave Cotto the big fight to resign, but made sure He was just a stepping stone for his protege.
I hope for Cotto's sake that He walks away from the Snobby Promoter and signs with a promoting company who care about him and looks after HIS BEST INTEREST.
Arum has done right by Cotto.

So I don't know what you're talking about.

PPV draw? I really don't know if that is true at all.

What are you talkin about? Cotto's fought just about every top fighter in his weight class besides Mayweather. In the span of close to 4 years he's fought Judah, Mosley, Margarito, Clottey, and Pacquiao. Seemingly back to back with the exception of Gomez and Jennings. I'm not sure what else you expect Bob or any other promoter to do for him. He gave Miguel the opportunity. Don't blame Bob because of Cotto's misfortunes in the ring.
