Thing is that the only reason steroids have to be officially banned by sports organizations is because if they sanctioned them a bunch of idiot kids would eat them like candy and **** themselves up. On the record they have to say they're bad but it doesn't mean regular people have to wag their fingers at those that get caught. I don't know, just my opinion.

Thats what irritates me is that with proper use steroids can actually do wonders for people. It boggles my mind even more that 30 years ago steroids were legal and everybody and their mom in pro sports were on them. Especially in the NFL but all of a sudden they are "bad" and "evil" Come on the leagues allowed it years ago knowing the effects...As you say if it wasnt for the dip**** kids who think they are candy they would still be legal.

Here is a decent article from a pro wrestlers point of view on steroids.

jabsRstiff is a guy who believes that Danish star Ayub Kalule was a bum, it's ludicrous to suggest this because Kalule pushed Sugar Ray Leonard to his limits and then a few years later showed really good form and won a comfortable points decision against Sumbu Kalambay while being touted as Hagler's next opponent (and somebody who could really trouble the ageing Hagler). He wants to make out that Kalule was a bum because he has issues against British boxers, because Herol 'Bomber' Graham beat Kalule in 1986 and became Hagler's mandatory before the Hagler-Leonard fight. It was Bomber's greatest win due to the ease in which he won, dodging punches and looking absolutely fantastic - and this was at a time when Kalule was at his best going into the Graham fight, due to being seen as next in line for Hagler and somebody that could give Hagler a tough time.

I understand. He does compare them to current American fighters and that can't be avoided. I just look at it as not a nationalistic "holla" but more of "hey, we have pretty good fighters too". In a way, i feel for JuyJuy coz there aren't as many great UK fighters in the scene at the moment. There's Joe, Ricky, Harrison and Khan (but he's a newbie pro) but not like it was in the 80's.

I never said Kalule was anything less than an EXCELLENT fighter...when in his PRIME.

Kalule had around 40 fights, was 154lb champ, when he fought ray Leonard.
He gave Ray a tough fight....but Ray DID prevail by 10rd. TKO.

Over the next two years....Kalule was KO'd by 10 fight veteran Davey Moore (was a good fight), & absolutely pummeled by Mike McCallum, when McCallum was still in prospect mode.

Kalule was NEVER a threat to Marvin hagler.....never talked about as a Hagler foe.
I followed Hagler's career inside & out...& never remeber Kalule being viewed as a a difficult task for Hagler.

Why would a guy who was badly beaten by Mike McCallum 4 years & 6lbs earlier be talked about as a test for the sport's best fighter ?
He wasn't.....but ol' JUY is claiming as such to build up Herol Graham.

Ayub Kalule was "in his prime" in '86, & at 160lbs.

Michael watson gave Mike McCallum a competitive fight ( it was a whitewash).....& was hampered by injuries.
I think the watson fight was competitive early but McCallum took control then ko'd him but thats my opinion, and i've never liked the injury 'thing' either, if your injured don't fight- simple as

thanks for the others tho, i've not seen your early bickering with each other so was surprised you called him a liar
                Thanks for replying quicky

Well I'm sorry dude but I have the Kalule-Graham fight on VHS, and the commentary keep saying that Graham is trying to wreck Kalule's chance of fighting Hagler.

I'll try to get hold of the Kalule-McCallum fight and see if he was "badly beaten" as you claim

Now see? This is excellent debating without the laced in insults. You both trade facts to back up your opinions! I never knew about Kalule. Now I do! THIS IS THE WAY IT SHOULD BE!

Does anybody have proof that Lacy is on steroid? No so why even say he is.JuyJuy is just angry because American fighters are better than british ones.Lacy is a coward because he doesnt fight at heavyweight? But yet Hopkins isnt a coward for only calling out fighters smaller than he is.Hagler never moved up in weight class so i guess he is coward.I heard Toney always walked around over 200 pounds but just started fighting at heavyweight now.Wait he hasnt fought a heavyweight just blown up cruiserweights so far.
I am not a Lacy fan but the man is the undefeated champ so until he loses or is proven to be on roids just leave the man alone
