    One fight wonder

Who would you guys classify as a One fight wonder. Meaning they got one chance at a belt won and then faded away, never winning another big fight again.

I have to disagree with that. Buster was a very good boxer in the mid-80's with real potential wasted due to mental weakness, abit like Danny Williams but accomplishing more Pre-Tyson.

Is there anyone who would disagree with this.

Before the Tyson fight BD had been KOed by two or three people that Tyson walked through. He was a journeyman before the Tyson fight and then after he fought Holyfeild, he never fought a top 10 heavyweight again.

If Vitaly Klitscko fought Oleg Maskev and for some reason Oleg dominated before fading away, it would still not be even close to the level of Douglas.

A one fight wonder would have to be someone who somehow became a mis-mandatory for a prominant champion. I think Hopkins fought some guy named Hakkar after the Tua Rahman rematch. That was on the same level as Tyson Douglas. I can't think of any more right now.

At the end of the day, I would like to know how many fights involve a 42-1 underdog.

                  Dave Tiberi vs James Toney

I saw this fight and I thought for sure Dave won easily. I mean, he beat Toney like a punching bag all day. But Toney won by split. Holy ****, what a robbery! I thought.

Dave Tiberi retired from boxing after that. He was no push over. He was.....

For five years, Bernard Hopkins was my chief sparring partner. James Toney never had the kind of fights we had. We trained in Philadelphia and New York. Every single day, I had Prince Charles Williams, Bam Bam Hines…I couldn't wait to get out of the gym and get into the fight! The sparring was treacherous.
