24/7 will rake in the tickets, either way 20k isn't bad at all.

Pacquiao-Margarito will have the greatest marketing tool in combat sports- 24/7. It's another David vs Goliath matchup for Pac who's going for a 8th divisional crown in what promises to be an action-packed, bloodbath. Margarito is the second most notorious fighter in Boxing behind only the I-Phone bandit, and controversy sells. Hell, all they have to do to sell this fight is play Cotto-Margarito followed by Pacquiao-Cotto on a loop.

If you think Pacquiao-Margarito will not do significantly better than Pacquiao-Clottey, or even crazier, that it will do less... then you are an idiot.
I really don't understand why people think that Margarito still has that kind of popularity. Look at his fight against Shane Mosley and when you are watching it, keep in mind Margarito got caught trying to load his gloves with the plaster of paris. Now, without the plaster of paris, Margarito looked very below average. Margarito is not an elite fighter. Forget about the "David vs Goliath" nonsense. He is a fraud at best. It will not be a competitive fight. It you noticed, Margarito is not as popular as he used to be.

If you wiki The Event Pacquiao vs Clottey you will see it never sold 50 000 tickets.

Pacquiao won every round and ultimately the fight through a unanimous decision. He dominated the punch count throughout the fight. Clottey threw some successful combinations in the middle rounds, but never produced a sustained offensive. Manny Pacquiao defended his title by unanimous decision, 120-108, 119-109, 119-109. After the fight, Pacquiao returned to Manila. He has reflected on a possible retirement.

The fight was rewarded with a paid crowd of 36,371 and a gate of $6,359,985, according to post-fight tax reports filed with Texas boxing regulators. Counting complimentary tickets delivered to sponsors, media outlets and others, the Dallas fight attracted 41,843, well short of the 50,994 that was previously announced, but still an epic number for boxing. In addition, the bout drew 700,000 pay-per-view buys and earned $35.3 million in domestic revenue

Tickets in vegas are 10x the price and watching one fighter dominate another is dull to me.
