BoxingScene.com has received confirmation from Zanfer Promotions that WBC/WBO bantamweight champion Fernando Montiel has suffered a leg fracture from motorcycle accident which took place over the weekend. Montiel was set to fight on November 20 and that contest is sure to be off. The recovery time for Montiel is unknown. Top Rank had planned for a fight with Nonito Donaire on February 19. There is no confirmation on whether the February date will have to be postponed to a later point in the year.

Nothing to blame but himself, he should at least wear some armor, but you know how crazy youth these days. From what i heard it only takes 8 months or less to get full recovery, so there still enough time for the february bout with donaire. He has about dec 13 to heal and 3 months (12 weks) to train

basically he says "@estelacalderon I fell of a motorcycle and I hit my bone but did not fracture it that's the good thing. Thanks"

He wrote this 4 hours ago. Hours before that, he wrote that his tibia was broken.
He's being released from the hospital today.
