That fight should have been a draw at the most, both of Alvarez's eyebrows were cut at the end,it was a bloody mess I tell you.He connected some hard punches but the pace of the fight was with the jap.He carved his jab into Alvarez's face all night long.

One of the cut was due to a head butt and a draw or a win by either one would of been ok the fight was close so were the rounds hard to score at times

I didn't see the fight, but according to the comments I read in notifight . com a spanish boxing website from Mexico lead's Me to believe that the fight was really close & that the Jap most likely got robbed..At least that's what MEXICAN fans are posting..They even went as far to say that BOTH fighters are horrible & neither 1 deserves to be a world champion....Here are some of the comments that the Mexican fans posted...They are obviously in Spanish, so if u can't read the language obviously u ain't going to understand S H I T!!

Detestable, ROBO DESCARADO Y PELEA MALISIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIMA.

              Saludos!

The WBA made Miguel Cotto the "super champion" at 154-pounds. Alvarez has spent most of his career in higher weight divisions, like super middleweight. He sees this as a brand new chapter in his career.

Cotto is already the WBA champ of junior middleweight division, just don't get it. Why make another champ of the same status and then just promote the other?

Maybe now u could understand; All of these organism's(WBC, WBA, IBF & WBO ect ect) are just a bunch of LEECHES that are full of S H I T!! They make $$$$$ by charging sanctioning fees to who ever is fighting for or defending the title of their organism..The WBA has crated this BULL S H I T called a "Super Champion" then they have this BIGGER BULL S H I T called a "Regular" Champion & then they have the BIGGEST BULL S H I T of them all(just like the other organism's), the fake a s s cardboard title called "Interim" Champion..& all of these are just plain & simply money making scheme's!!! The WBA could have 3 belt holders per weight class which equals to more $$$$ every time they charge these belt holders & their challengers sanction fees to fight for the title..In other words, being a so called world champion has become a JOKE!!! Cotto was "UP GRADED" to "Super Champion" & Rigoberto Alvarez is now the "Regular" Champion.. Hopefully now u will understand.. & just to show u how much of a JOKE it has turned to become a world champion, this title that Rigoberto Alvarez won & note that Rigoberto Alvarez is better known for being "Canelo's" brother than for being a fighter..Anyway, after Alvarez has been fighting Tomato Cans at 168lbs for most of his career & loosing to 1 of those tomato cans & also loosing to the ONLY known fighter on his record(Marco Antonio Rubio, who isn't that good) this was Alvarez's 1ST TIME fighting at 154 & was ALREADY RANKED #9 BY THE WBA & GOT A CHANCE AT 1 OF THEIR MANY TITLES PER WEIGHT CLASS!! ¿Is this some CRAZY S H I T or what?
