Because when you stop to think about it, nobody ever really embraced him after he KOd Roy Jones. If you look at his fights they've always done bad ratings on TV except for the Hopkins fight back when Hopkins was a decent draw and only semi boring but not unwatchable like he is now. I mean, just look at both of the Tarver-Dawson fights for example. It seems like people don't talk nasty about Tarver now like they used to because he's won them over with his commentating work. But the question is do you think being a Heavyweight will help Tarver's drawing power?
Do you think being a Heavyweight will help Tarver's marketability?

Tarver being a Heavyweight would help the Heavyweight division's marketability. That's how bad it is up there.
Plus Tarver's trash talking would stir things up probably. And he won't talk but then back out like Haye or call out the Klitschko's while already fighting in MMA.Comment

Heavyweights make more money but at this stage of Tarvers career, survival is more important than marketability.
And the way things are going in the division now he will get this one meaningless win and sit and wait for a title shot. And get it!Comment
