Comments Thread For: Rigoberto Alvarez Beats Nobuhiro Ishida, Wins WBA Belt

Rigoberto Alvarez (26-2, 19KOs), the older brother of unbeaten Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, won a twelve round split decision over Nobuhiro Ishida (22-6, 7KOs) to win the vacant "regular" WBA junior middleweight title at Mesón de los Deportes in Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico. The WBA made Miguel Cotto the "super champion" at 154-pounds.

The point is that more BELT HOLDER'S per division equals to sucking out more $$$$$ from the fighters by charging sanctioning fees every time they fight for or defend these ridiculous titles!!! That's how these LEECH ORGANISM'S(WBC, WBA, IBF & WBO ect ect) work..HOLDING A CHAMPIONSHIP BELT HAS BECOME A JOKE IN BOXING!!! Just look at this 154 WBA(¿regular? if there should be such a thing)title that Rigoberto Alvarez(better known for being "Canelo's" brother than for being a fighter) won, after fighting Tomato Cans at 168lbs for most of his career & loosing to 1 of those tomato cans & to the ONLY known fighter on his record(Marco Antonio Rubio, who isn't that good) TONIGHT was Alvarez's 1ST TIME fighting at 154 & was ALREADY RANKED #9 BY THE WBA & GOT A CHANCE AT 1 OF THEIR MANY TITLES PER WEIGHT CLASS!!

I guess it means that Rigoberto Alvarez is just ordinary. Nothing special I suppose. I don't know.

Honestly, I think that the WBA should be put out of business for having two world champions in the light flyweight, super flyweight, super batamweight, featherweight, and lightweight divisions. Now, they have two world champions in the light middleweight division. How many more divisions will have two world champions? Why have two world champions in a divison?

¿2 world champions? U'r forgetting the FAKE A S S CARDBOARD "INTERIM" TITLE!!! Which they also charge sanctioning fees!!! So that makes it 3 BELT HOLDERS PER WEIGHT CLASS!!! I TOTALLY agree with U, they SHOULD BE PUT OUT OF BUSINESS!! ALL THESE LEECHES OF ORGANISM'S (WBA, WBC, IBF & WBO ECT ECT) SHOULD BE PUT OUT OF BUSINESS!!! There should be 1 World Champion per weight class, just like back in the days!!!

Exactly. Boxing needs only 1 sanctioning body anyways. Imagine how much better boxing will be if there was only 1 undisputed champion with one world championship belt in each division.

However, these sanctioning bodies just want to charge fighters more money.
