No, Floyd covered up, clinched, and covered up again. He knows what to do to recover when he's hurt. This is what they teach you in boxing gyms.

It's not about Mosley "not doing anything". Think about this for a second, why would the best defensive fighter of our era NOT know what to do when he's hurt?

What i noticed most of all after rewatching that fight was that i think Mayweather was bit too relaxed after the first round, and got caught, afterwards he was all business though.
thats EXACTLY how I saw it as well tbh

Good post. Floyd realized that he has to start faster than usual if he wants to come forward.

In boxing, anyone can be hit with a clean shot, I just don't see Pacquiao landing such a hard shot that Mayweather doesn't see coming and walks into. Pacquiao can beat Mayweather, and even stopping him is possible but i'd imagine it would happen due to him breaking him down not from just 1 punch.

That's exactly what I'm saying. Clottey didn't pressure Pac, look what happened. Virtually no damage.

the "Mayweather has beaten 6 southpaws" argument doesn't mean a g*ddamn thing.

Pacquiao is immeasurably better than ANY southpaw Mayweather has fought.

Don't get me wrong....I'd still favor Mayweather by extremely close SD if they fought...possibly DRAW.

I see it going the same way as Chavez/Whitaker. Except Manny is much faster and can land devastating shots.

Because the guy was curled up in a ball the whole 'fight' . The reason he was afraid to open up was precisely because Pac is too damn fast and strong. Plus Clottey just might have the best chin in all of boxing, pound for pound and he comes in at MW on fight night and is all muscle . Most fighters can't take that kind of sustained pounding for 12 rounds, even if they block most punches.

And you think Floyd will open up on Pac? Floyd doesn't open up on anyone. You still haven't come up with an argument to suggest Pac can generate power without guys walking on to his punches.

Floyd is a pure counter puncher. He is vulnerable for the first 3-4 rounds because that is his time to study his opponent repetitive moves. Mosley caught him first with the jab to the body and right hand up top then next he caught him with a right hook. Mayweather weathered the storm and never got hit by those same combinations again because he learned from the first time.

Mosley attempt with the same combination

Now what Manny has to do is get him out of there the first 3-4 rounds relentlessly. Or else Manny will become predictable after those 3-4 rounds and Mayweather will dominate as usual. Now I never believed Manny hit as hard as Mosley, its just he is way more accurate than Mosley. Also its not as natural for an orthodox stance Mosley to throw a right hook as it is natural for southpaw Manny to throw a right hook. So Mayweather might be vulnerable to the right hook from the southpaw stance for the first 3-4 rounds.

Actually, it means that Floyd isn't weak against southpaws like people want to believe. People can lie to themselves if they want, but someone who has DOMINATED EVERY SINGLE southpaw they fought proves that lefties are not their weakness.

You need to organize your thoughts. Whitaker beat Chavez CONVICINGLY by taking NINE rounds. If you see it going like Whitaker/Chavez, Floyd would score a CLEAR and DOMINANT UD over pac. It wouldn't be no Mayweather SD or draw you're dreaming about if it was to go like Whitaker/Chavez.
