    This week in Boxing . . . . .
    By Outlaw

    "King" Returns home

"King" David Estrada made his safe return from Miami, Florida after showing support for his former trainer and friend the Legendary Trainer Angelo Dundee and the Iconic 5th Street Gym's grand reopening and has already set his sights on the welterweight Champion.

    * Rumors are out that Estrada might be facing the winner of the Chavez jr vs Gomez Bout. There also has been rumblings of Estrada vs the WBA World champion Vyacheslav Senchenko

Back to Back Losses for Waite

Chicago's Orphius Waite suffered a 1st round TKO lost yesterday (October 6th 2010) against Denis Douglin at BB King Blues Club & Grill in New York. This is Waite's second loss in a row and many boxing insiders are saying his is just a opponent now. Hopefully we can catch up with Waite and discuss not only his future but his thoughts on the naysayers.

    El Dragon lands in Michigan

Ramon "El Dragon" Valenzuela Jr returns to the ring on October 30th at the Palace in Auborn Hills, MI. Valenzuela will be taking on Detroit's Sidney Gurley ( 3-1 w/ 3 KOs ). This will be Valenzuela's 2nd fight in as little as 6 weeks, Team Valenzuela informed me that they intend on keeping "El Dragon" busy and active.

Antonio Canas heads to Japan ?

There has been discussions with professional boxer Antonio Canas and Bellator Fighting Championships in the past, but now there has been some talks of Canas getting a immediate title shot against the winner of the Chase Bebee vs Jared McMahon bout this october 16th for the Chicago Cagefighting Championships organization.

    * There has been rumors of Canas fighting overseas in the land of the rising sun for Dream, DREAM is a mixed martial arts organization promoted by Fighting and Entertainment Group and co-produced with the former Pride Fighting Championships executives from Dream Stage Entertainment. It is the sister production of K-1 kick boxing. There is talks of Canas fighting Daiki Hata for his debut bout. Other names has included Chase Bebee & "Wicky" Akiyo Nishiura.

I would love to see that bout as well, problem is David is not moving up in weight and Collazo no longer wants anything to do with the 147 division.

I would love to see Collazo vs Canelo, if they can make that happen. I wanna see if Canelo is indeed the truth and that would be a valid test for him.

I think that whole moving up in weight thing was just said because he was too inactive to make weight vs Adyin, and wanted an excuse to make the pull out more acceptable. For the right fight with ample time, I think he could make welter, but I just wanna see him come outta exile at any weight.

This fight was talked about, but money was not right for Estrada so Baldomir filled it. Estrada will be a great test for Canelo.

Orlando Lora was another highly touted undefeated mexican prospect before bumping into Estrada.

Honestly, Estrada is a step down from Gomez for Chavez Jr. Don't let Estradas style fool you, that guy has been done for ages. It's a disgrace what Chavez jr gets away with.

They said Estrada was done after Mosley and he fought Abregu and got robbed, then fought Karass and was counted out when he was clearly on his feet and aware where he was at, both Gary Shaw Fighters and both times he got screwed. He did lose to Smith, Mosley, Cintron & Berto, but the other that i do not personally believe that he lost to Abregu and Karass, the sad politics of boxing. However Orlando Lora was a highly touted prospect and was destroyed by Estrada.

Estrada vs Gomez been talked about for some time, and i believe this will be a good fight for boxing fans.
