Why do people think Pacquiao has changed as a fighter?

This is a deception...amongst some boxing fans, mostly who are fans of Pacquiao. I dont think his style has changed, he is still the same fighter he was when he fought Marquez, the only thing is he has got tailor made match-ups for him, thanks to the expert Freddie Roach.

I think if Pacquiao faces a good counter puncher in the ring, he is in trouble, but someone who is just aggressive will always look bad against him, for e.g. Margarito next.

its funny, mostly every boxer thats a potential pacquiao opponent is always "tailor made" for him.
a couple of years ago, pac vs margarito would be ludicrous

i do agree with u, pac needs to face a 'particular' counter puncher who's isnt quite in a boxing mood since May...

id love to see another marquez fight though

yes because clottey , cotto , diaz , delahoya , hatton and margarito all fight the same way.

i just love the "he's avoiding counterpunchers" argument.

last i checked all 3 of his losses......none were to a counterpuncher.

i don't know but most of pacquiao's opponents try to counterpunch him.

that's what happens when you have a speed advantage.

only 1 counterpuncher has ever really given pacquiao problems yet pac is avoiding counterpunchers.

almost everyone pac beat tried to counterpunch him. they had to. pac's footwork and speed controls the pace of the fight.

The guys that believe they are a bigger offensive force and want to exchange will get beatings. I would think a smart boxer with good discipline and defense would be best against Pac atm. I think any reasonable boxing fan can see the improvements.

For me the new weapon was the right hook and that makes the Pacman more dangerous. Hatton ate all of Pacman's right hooks because they were short and fast. Once he started worrying about the right hooks he forgot about the left

The other improvement is the footspeed. The speed with which he can move in, throw his punches, and get out, is just unbelievable. Also there is an overall improvement in the fluidity and quality of combinations he can throw. Pacquiao is an offensive force with a good chin, which gives him the license to go for it all the time. Just deadly
