Yes, I've been there before. I stayed at the Excalibur, across the street from the MGM Grand.

It's more expensive at Thanksgiving (although I'd love to be there for Katsidis-JMM at the MGM Grand) and I can't go at Christmas, so that weekend of Dec 11 is perfect for me.

I just need to see confirmation of Ortiz-Kotelnik on the Dec 11 undercard - that means two good matchups - and then I'll book the flight and hotel.

It's not far, about an 8 minute walk. You can do it underground.

The Mandalay Bay is usually less expensive than the MGM Grand, by the way.

There is a tram that runs from Treasure Island to Mandalay Bay.

All you have to do is walk across the street from MGM to TI and hop on and it takes you to Mandalay Bay.

I am not sure about ticket prices but they usually are 75,150,300 and up for Vegas fights of any significance.

I am planning on staying Thursday night to Monday morning at 112/night.

The Mandalay Bay would cost 140/night for the same dates.

Never buy a $75 seat or a $100 at the Mandalay Bay. I made that mistake once (a $100 seat), but luckily the venue was half empty for a HBO card (Williams-Wright) and with the permission of an usher I complained to, we moved down into better seats.

They are a lot different than the cheaper seats at the Cobo in Detroit, which are actually not bad, if I remember correctly.

I don't get how what Lampley said was that offensive. If it was Pac and Floyd no one would be complaining if someone said "remember, God loves the humble" while Floyd was being pounded.
