the rafael "article' is not evidence either way.
why even sit at the negotiating table and hammer out the details, try to get a venue, etc if your fighter is having symptoms of having a neurological problem.

i find this quote very interesting, from his own trainer.

he hasnt done sht since the abraham fight. if his "headaches and dizziness" were such a constant factor in his life that he cant even do non contact exercise, we wouldve heard SOMETHING about that.

no venue, both he and ward want more money, fights supposedly a month and a half away, vs a guy who he doesnt even wanna fight and dirrell's 25+ lbs overweight, etc.
    very convenient "problem."

were there abnormalities in the post-fight or subsequent tests? or are they just going by dirrell's word that he's been suffering from headaches?
if someone in his team or who has been around dirrell caught wind of these "constant" symptoms throughout the past 6 months, you best believe we wouldve heard about it by now.
we??? who are u??? all we are are fans. we wait for news, we aint in this guys family or inner circle. we kno what they tel us. stop hypothesizing. the arrogance of ppl around here astounds me...

      lulz

You're right. You can see that it was glancing and along his jaw line in the gif above.
That was the best shot Abraham hit him with all night.

Um probably the one that sat Dirrell on his ass but the ref didn't rule. I also remember Dirrell turing into a trackstar/gumby as usual.

Whether he was struck on the jaw or hit on the temple, Abraham could have struck with enough power to do some very serious damage. Either way, his brain may have moved around in his skull, causing further damage. I find it odd that so many people don't believe that his could possible cause a neurological disorder.

When a punch of sufficient force strikes the face, it accelerates the front of the cranium back into the frontal lobes of the brain. This is the irreducible sweet science of brain injury. A gentle blow to the frontal lobes causes various degrees of central nervous system sedation -- it stuns the brain -- and a blow of sufficient force simply shuts the brain off. Seizures are not uncommon.

You stressed that it was not the size of the punch but the area it landed that should be considered, citing the temple.

I was just clarifying that the blow actually landed on the jaw. Your post read as if you'd read the article but not watched the fight.

                I understand the science.

But guys falling into unconscious seizures don't consciously raise their gloves to their heads as they fall consciously sideways.

I hope it works out better than that for him, but if he is at serious risk he should stay the hell out of the ring.

Hope Dirrell is okay even though I've always admitted that I never liked the dude. I mean, yeah I care if he's okay but why don't I have a right to be disappointed in this tournament being tarnished?

what about the shot that sent abraham face first into the ropes but wasnt called a knockdown

dirrell tripped over abraham's foot but yeah panda's willing to admit he got stunned by that shot regardless
