I just looked up Archie Moore's record. Wow, that guy fought 221 times. Retired with a W 186 with 131 KO's, 24 losses and 11 draws. He was a real active fighter. Why don't fighters these days fight a fraction of that? We are lucky to get a title defense once a year.

they want one 10mil fight a year then live off the rest of the year partying, back then boxing was taken a lot more serious than it is now seeing as how they didn't get paid nowhere near the amounts of now

How much of that do they really take home? After their promotors and corner and doctors get their cut.

I read on this forum they get something like 40% of it, but then there's also under the table cash money and such, I don't think fighters are that dumb, they might take some 5mil fights but they'd be getting another 5mil all to themselves undeclared. I find it horrible how you're the one achieving it all and all you get is 40%, if I ever I go pro I'm becoming my own manager right there is 30%

That's what Hopkins does. He said **** off to King. I don't blame him, King is a little shady.
