Does Amir REALLY believe that Pac is hitting him with his "best" shots during sparring???? Next thing we'll hear from Amir is that he "almost" knocked Pac out while they were sparring.
      LOL! Great post, Lorily.

Great thing about this is it brings up the point, Maidana HAS been floored. He got back up and won the fight in the middle of the Staples centre against a pro-Ortiz crowd but he HAS been floored. That ticks a little circuit in Maidana's head where he starts trying to figure Khan's gameplan.

Had the Ortiz fight lasted longer could Ortiz have KO'ed Maidana?

That'll be ringing in El Chino's head. Maidana is just a pressure fighter with a great KO in his armoury.

Khan could box him and floor him in the match. Possibly get a stoppage?

Maidana's chin is good but its not ALL that so I think theres a good possibility of a stoppage.

Khan will box him but theres gonna be some brawling in there.

                  Good!
If Khan brawls, he'll lose. And if he knocks Maidana down, that will be the most dangerous part of the fight for Khan, because Maidana has tremendous powers of recovery, and Khan has a tendency to get over-excited when he thinks he can get a knock-out, and throws wildly. If he does that against Maidana he'll certainly be knocked out.

Khan can win, but only if he sticks to Roach's game plan with iron discipline throughout. I hope for his sake that what he said in this interview is nothing more than hype.

Or he's trying to make Maidana think twice about knocking him out in the first round.

I don't think he falls for it.

Bad tactic on Khan's part then. I don't think Maidana is the kind of guy that gets thrown off his game plan. He's been doing it for 30 fights and all he has to do is keep doing the same thing he always does.

Bottom line is all of the pressure is on Khan in this fight and of all the things Khan has to worry about in this fight he has the least room for error and I believe he'll slip up somewhere at one point and Maidana will capitalize.

Roach may very well tell Khan everything he needs to do, but it's still up to Khan to follow. With Khan's ego and in the ring with the adrenaline pumping a lapse in judgment wanting to "prove" himself wouldn't be too far-fetched.

Sometimes game-plans go right out the window in the heat of the battle and it's a long and lonely 3 minutes before a trainer can snap a fighter back to the plan if they need to and it isn't too late.
