Comments Thread For: Penalosa vs Kietmangmee: Gerry Looks For a Final Win

Former two-division world champion Gerry Peñalosa (54-8, 35KOs) hopes to end his 21-year boxing career with a win. On October 10 he faces Thailand’s Yodsaenkeng Kietmangmee in a ten round contest in Zamboanga City. Win or lose, the 38-year-old Penalosa is going to finally retire from boxing. He won WBC super flyweight and WBO bantamweight world title belts.

Good luck to Gerry in this fight and in retirement.

Always thought he was often on the short end of the stick when there was a close decision.

even if Morel did win, getting schooled by an old ass man who's boxed pro in 3 decades is pathetic

gerry has a good fortune back in his homeland. but it is as if he's broke trying to get another bout. maybe boxing really is in his blood. i hope he will realize sooner that he's no longer competitive as he is years back.
