Gomez is 7-1-1, 4Ko's above welterweight, thats not that ineffective. Two of those wins are against career super middleweighs Manfredo Jr, and Jesse Brinkley who is fighting Bute this month. Other then lacking punching power I would say he has proved effective.

Alfonso Gomez has always been about nothing when it comes
to boxing. Can't name one big achievement he did other than
beating Gatti at the end of his time. This fight is bull****.

Chavez has the world class trainer, who is training Gomez? Gomez has won a couple of decent fights to have a bit of cash if he didn't spend all of his cash he might be able to get someone like Manny Steward. I don't know, fights like this favor the guy with the much better trainer, I know this is boxing and anything can happen but having a great/good trainer is the difference in alot of fights.
