    JUST WATCHED TARVER/JONES 2 & JONES/JOHNSON

After watching these 2 fights carefully I dont really think Jones is a shot fighter and he does not have a weak chin, may not be the best but its not as bad as some like to say...

    Tarver/Jones 2

Roy Jones Came out Strong and landed the better shots in the 1st Round, good speed and power in every shot. No signs of being shot, then in the 2nd round same thing until Tarver landed the over hand left, Still that does not mean Jones is shot, that was one of the best timed shots I have seen, and That shot woulda KOed anyone in the division or lead to a KO. No signs of being shot in this fight IMO, KO's happen, its boxing...

    Jones/Johnson

I dont see how any one can say Jones has a weak chin, Watch this fight and see how many good shots he takes to the side of the head. And he obviously didnt train that much for this fight and still lasted 9, yeah he was gun shy at times but when he did let his hands go his shots were fast and accurate, Even though he ended up getting KOed in the 9th, Johnsons punch is not what had him on the canvas so long, the punch did hurt him but the canvas finished him off, I dont really see no signs of him being shot in this fight either cuz when he fought back he was effective, i took down the final punch stats for this fight

    Johnson Jones
    118 Landed 75
    437 Thrown 270
    27% PCT. 28%

So can someone explain to me why u think Jones is shot or cant take a punch????? Gun shy dont mean hes shot. I believe if he prepares properly for a fight he can still be champ @ 175.'

For the second fight with Tarver, he was winning the fight until he got blasted with that left hand which could've knocked anyone out. When I saw this fight, he didn't look that bad but he was still not the same Roy as we all seen in the past. He was still a little slow and his body still looked lethargic. For the Glen Johnson fight, his body looked absoutely terrible and pretty much didn't give that much effort in the ring. I do not think Roy is totally shot. I still think Roy can be a title contender but he's not gonna beat Tarver on Oct 1.

yeah i agree he aint the same Roy B4 Ruiz but he aint shot IMO, Tarver and Johnson are B fighters at most. Roys Body did look Horrible against Johnson, meaning what? he didnt train properly, so i am a lil weary of him fighting Tarver at this point but i still think he can win aslong as another bomb dont land, but Johnson i think Jones can beat him easily if he actually got up and trained for the fight.

To tell u truth, I do not think Roy trained that much at all for Tarver II or Glen Johnson. Weeks before Tarver II, he was all over B.E.T making music videos and even was a guest on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno days before the fight. For the Johnson fight, he was out promoting his rap album, and there were several sources from his camp that he didn't train that much either. Like I said, I do not think Roy is a totally shot fighter, but based on his last two performances, one can only figure out that Roy just lost interest in boxing. If he was to defeat Tarver at this point of his career, it's gonna take a really motivated, dedicated and hungry Roy to do it.

I just watched some old Roy Jones an he can take a punch. He doesn't have the best chin, but I think we have all over reacted about his last two fights. I am guilty of saying Roy has a glass jaw myself. But after seeing some of his fights from the 90's he has a average chin. Whatever you may think give Jones this, he always either got up or tried to get up and fight on.

In the first Tarver fight, he showed how the weight loss afftected his reflexs, his stamina, and his speed...

2nd Tarver fight, he showed that the weight loss affected his chin...

Johnson fight, he proved that he is SHOT....

Sorry man, but Roy Jones is done IMO.
