I just saw it as him being very proud of where he came from. Proud of his nationality. His flamboyance never reach to trash talking as in downgrading his opponents. He never did that. In a trash talking sense he was very respectable to his opponents. Unless his opponent disrespected him first. Look @ Tito-Winky that was the friendliest trash talking I have ever seen. Both joking around giving out catching mits.
But, he was more as in I am doing it for all of Puerto Rico. He like felt he put the whole country on his shoulder. When he won is only only he did it. But, the every single Boricua won. And, that is what I got from him. That is why when he finally lost it was a very very sad day for a lot of Tito fans. Because, he put that whole island on his shoulders. And, was always proud of that. So I don't get him being proud of his nationality and expressing it the way he did was wrong.
And, my personality is different. If I were famous I would take the Cotto approach. But, nothing was wrong with the way Tito did it. And, I don't think he was a clown outside the ring eitehr.
Inside the ring I agree he was gem. Very special fighter made me a hardcore fan. I honestly don't believe Cotto is half the fighter Tito was. And, no disrespect to Cotto but in my honest opinion he is a borderline HOF'er. He might get in but it won't be the first ballot. While Tito is an ATG let alone first ballot HOF'er.Comment

I don't really care about trash talking that's now what I meant.
I just don't care for his type of personality is really all it is. Not my style, I don't like people like that that I know, and I don't like athletes or celebrities that are like that.
I wouldn't say Cotto isn't half the figher Tito was. In fact, that's crazy. I know you LOVE Tito, come on. Cotto isn't half the fighter Tito is? That's going too far.
Tito is arguably an ATG...many people wouldn't have him in their top 100.
And I don't really think Cotto is a borderline HOF. Cotto will get in the HOF.
Difference is.....Tito is a lock for the first ballot, while Cotto isn't.
Tito was simply a superior fighter, no one could possibly argue that. But you're exaggerating the gap.Comment

Cotto wouldn't be able to carry titos jock straps. Please. Cotto has heart? Tito NEVER took a knee Never. Tito kept it real, he was a humble poor dude who worked his ass off for the money he now has. Cotto is a come mierda, that's a fact. He's from Caguas which is the metro area hence the come mierdas. Tito comes from the country wheree people still to this day say good morning to you and in restaurants they tell you Buen Provecho. and in all the years that I have watched tito and cotto, tito only got his ass kicked by one man BHOP.
Fine winky schooled him but it was different. When tito lost to BHOP, us real ricans cried like *****es. Tito had that swag and charisma that you had no choice but to love him. the whole vargas thing was personal, vargas was talking alot of smack, and if you see when they are in the middle of the ring Vargas puts water in his mouth and fronts like he's going to spit at tito. Tito just looks at him and says "dale, haci mismo es" vargas froze after that. Check it out.Comment

Plus there is nothing wrong with representing where you come from with full effect. Look at Pac- BHOP himself and mexicans are always proud. So whats the beef with tito?Comment

Plus when Tito won a fight, he would be received in the airport by millions of fans and would do a carabana for him. Cotto doesn't get **** but a small article in the newspaper. LOLComment
