Idk if I'm wrong but I thought the whole point of cotto not fighting was because he was gonna wait for the winner of margarito and PAC?? I mean I have read a couple of articles here on boxingscene about that but if it's true then why won't he take a tune up match or something??? I mean cotto vs Chavez would be a good fight it brings the Mex vs PR rivalry but I think at this time cotto kills jr(and I'm mexican). So I ain't no racial fighter type I go for anyone regarding race. Anywayd..... Can some one please just clear that up for me

He's not hungry. He's just TRYING to live up to the name of his father, which will never happen in that fashion. Chavez hasn't fought anyone worth it to even deserve a shot at cotto. Arum is obviously throwing him in with the lions as a guinea pig. KO by liver shot. Bob knows that Miguel's next real big fight will be with CHEATO incase he beats Pacquiao. (After all this is boxing and you never know) If pac wins, a fight against cheato and cotto would still make money.

From what I got Cotto was going to only fight this year if it was against Chavez Jr. Since it seemed like Jr didn't really want the fight this year Cotto decided to take the year off.

This is exactly what happened...Jr. was nervous cuz Roach wasn't spending enough time to work with him, so Chavez backed out of the fight. Cotto then decided to rest and heal, which he very well needs and deserves after so many wars.
