Comments Thread For: Roach, Ariza: Conditioning is a Key Focus For Pacquiao

Realizing that his quest for an eighth world title as a light middleweight against the bigger, taller and rugged Antonio Margarito at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Texas on November 13 will need him to be in tremendous physical condition, Manny Pacquiao has committed to focus on his conditioning as he resumed training in Baguio City, Monday.

yes of course there is concern for manny, margarito will probably come in weighing at around 160 on fight night and with a well rested chin. so yes they should be cocerned..

btw, only ignorant people question the 130 to 147 division jump, a total of 17 pounds from one max weight division (130) to the 147 max weight division. *****s are blind to see that pacs fighting weight has only increased from featherweight to welterweight by less than 10 pounds (i repeat, less than 10 pounds, about 7 to 8 pounds to be exact) in 3 yrs.

the difference now is that pac is not fighting about 10 pounds over the official weigh-in, which is natural and common in todays boxing. pac as a welterweight has never weighed more than 150 as a welter, hence people say he is a small welterweight...on the other hand, most welterweights will weigh within the welterweight weight range and come in at 160 or more...which they then becomes a middleweight and not a welterweight.

as i said in another thread, because pac isnt adding that much additional weight come fight nite, he is considered a small welterweight or a natural jr welterweight...on the other hand, most other welterweights will add as much as 10 to 20 pounds come fight nite, which then makes them a big welterweight, or basically be fighting as a middleweight...WITH THIS SAID, WHO's THE ONE THATS REALLY CHEATING?

sounds like they are saying the size difference is a big factor in this fight. especially since pac isn't looking great in sparring.

He's only had two sparring sessions, but took it easy last week since they were already ahead of schedule. I hope he stops skipping roadwork for basketball again.
