The first fight was a huge mismatch. Rodriguez DESTROYED that bum in the first round. Everything he threw landed flush, and he sent the dude to the hospital on a stretcher without breaking a sweat.
The second fight was one of the ugliest fights in recent memory. Neither guy had any fundamentals whatsoever, which is surprising because Lenord Pierre is trained by ex-Tyson man Kevin Rooney. Pierre was just wild all night long, having no reason or rhyme to anything he did.
Fortunately for him, he was up against a mentally handicapped opponent. Not literally, but the guy was just pathetic. He could have EASILY stayed on the outside and used the jab to death and won the fight. But what does he do? He not only leaps inside every chance he gets(literally LEAPING inside), but at one point he was even RUNNING right up to the guy. And, not only did he back straight up with his hands below his waist constantly, but he CAME IN with his hands at his waist at well. He thought he was a lot quicker than he really was, and he ended up finally getting KTFO in the 8th. I mean it was just frustrating to watch, but I rejoiced when that dumbass got KO'd.
That brings me to the saddest and most pathetic fight of the night. Cley-Bey freaking sucks, and so does Derek Bryant. Neither of these guys have any business talking like they have a chance at getting to the top of the division. Both of them would get embarassed by just about anyone I can think of.
Fight goes like this: Cley-Bey lands a few nice shots, then leans on the ropes for the rest of the rounds as Bryant LOVE TAPS him in the gloves with some of the softest punches known to man. This guy was right up against Cley-Bey tapping him all night, when all he had to do was simply step back and unload on the guy's head and actually get some extension on his punches. He was landing 4-5 punches in a row, and didn't even PHASE Cley-Bey. I don't think this guy could punch through wet tissue paper. Cley-Bey is one of the worst-conditioned fighters I have ever seen in a professional fight. If you think I'm exaggerating, watch it for yourself if they replay it. They ended with a draw, but I think a double loss would have been more fitting.
A sad night at the fights. Even though I wasn't actually there, thank god.
