An honest Assessment of Ricky Hatton no haters

OK he beat Kosta Tsyu refused to fight Shamba Mitchell. He was gifted against Collazo, tried to fight Mayweather and got dropped twice before being knocked out.He cried a lot after that fight and his punch resistance was gone.So good was the Mayweather beating that Ricky hired Mayweather's father later so he could take his career further. He tried a comeback against a washed up Lazcano and though he won everyone told him to retire because he was finished. He changed trainers went with Mayweather and beat Paulie Malignaggi. When talk of a Manny Pacquiao fight came Mayweather Sr suggested Ricky take 3 fights so he could learn to move his head and increase his longevity before fighting Pacquiao.Ricky chose otherwise and was dispatched early by Pacquiao.

The question is how good was Ricky Hatton? If Ricky had taken the Manny fight before he was knocked out by Mayweather would he have won.People need to realise that Kosta Tsyu gave Zab Judah the chicked dance but Hatton took everything Kosta had.If Ricky could take those shots wouldnt he have taken Pacquiao's shots?Boxing is about match making something Warren was good at.

Please give your assessment of Ricky, how do you rate him?

Hatton can be define by two fights, Tsyzu and Malignaggi and i meant fights that he won, His resume is poor and he gets rated more for his fanbase, and his well manage PR than his actual talent in the ring.

If Mayweather didnt duck Hatton at 140 then Hatton would knock him out,of course with fair judge.

Hatton is no 147 pounder,he lost to Collazo at 147.

lost to two fighters in his entire career, one is an undisputed atg the other was Floyd Mayweather away from home at a higher weight class with a ref all over him

btw, the thread said no haters, and you've done nothing but hate on Hatton for days and weeks.

Hatton came to stardum by smothering a flat Tszsu. He had a style that boxers hate to face. A slaugher who would rough you off and crowd you physically until he broke your will.
Later they wanted to make him a boxer and failed miserably.
He should of kept his style which would of serve him better against both Mayweather and Pacman.
IMO, He was very succesful as a fast energy driven slaugher. As a boxer He was a B fighter.

Hatton was vastly overrated. Sure he beat Kosta. But that win wasn't all that convincing, IMO. First of all, the ref let him get away with A TON of dirty tactics. Secondly, I think Kosta was there to collect a paycheck as much as fight. $6 million for the fight was the most Kosta had made in any fight prior to that, and I think it's no coincidence that he's been retired ever since. Hatton was basically exposed by Luis Collazo. I'd rate him about a B+ fighter. Marketed right, proper fight selection, he just didn't have the tools necessary to win at the elite level. He was very good, but not great. And I hope to God that he gets his act straightened out before he ends up becoming another boxing tragedy. And I am not a Ricky Hatton fan at all. Just trying my hardest to be honest here.
