  • This was exactly what I wad trying to explain in one of my previous threads. PAC has always came into the ring at 144-148. PAC inst moving up weight classes in a small span of time, he just maintains his normal weight which is in or around 144-150.

People make it out to seem like PAC is jumping weight classes when reality he is naturally a LWW-WW

He got his rep for fighting bigger opponents only when he went up to lightweight and above. Below lightweight, he got credit for being a whirlwind one-dimensional fighter.

      • that's why i seldom, if ever, post on these topics anymore.

it's a no-win argument when it comes to pac.

haters are always going to introduce anything to undermine his success.

        ANYTHING.

'bigger fighters are coming in weight drained against him that's why he's winning'

but if you rebutt by saying that he was actually doing the same thing to himself when he was fighting in the lower weights and winning, the response would be...

'he's a big man taking advantage of smaller men'

        so which one is it?

you're supposed to lose because you're draining yourself or you're supposed to win because you're fighting smaller men?

NOTHING will stop these haters from coming up with excuses to smear his name because either they don't like him or they don't like *******s.

        take your pick.

This thread proved that the two reasons why Pacquiao drained himself in weight in the lower weight category were simply to fight the best as well the most popular fighters.

          Barrera
          Morales
          Marquez

From 2003-2008, he fought Barrera 2x, Morales 3x and Marquez 3x. It's not surprising that after defeating these fighters, he moved up in weight to test the "waters". His history of weight-draining during these 5 year period was already wearing him thin.

He fought David Diaz (WBC lightweight champion) because Arum did not want to share the earnings with GBP or other promoters.---reason: to make Pacquiao become more marketable as a fighter.

He fought Oscar de la Hoya (a naturally bigger but very popular fighter) mainly for money and to increase marketability. In fact, many boxing experts predicted the fight as one-sided in favor of Oscar. BTW it was not Pacquiao's fault that Oscar only weighed 147 lbs on fightnight--Oscar should have rehydrated himself to 155-160lbs in that fight boxing experts had earlier expected)-----Name other boxers who tried what Pacquiao did, i.e. fighting a naturally bigger fighter.

and then he fought Hatton, Cotto, Clottey and Margarito who were all naturally bigger than him. Again, can anyone name other boxers today who "dared" and "challenged themselves" to fight against bigger and heavier boxers?

It's funny how Dela Hoya now claims that Pac forced him to dehydrate. Talk about revisionism. He was the one who cherrypicked the smaller fighter. He was the one who bragged that he was going to match Pac's speed. He was the one who bragged that he had never been in better shape in years. He was the one who bragged about eating kangaroo meat and using accupuncture on 24/7.

Immediately after the fight, Nacho and Oscar's nutritionist denied that he had weight problems. Dela Hoya couldn't even face the media for weeks.

Funny how time changes one's memories.

Well, the reason there is continued criticism against Pac is because he won't submit to random USADA testing for whatever reason. I'm not at all saying that Pac IS on some sort of PED because there is no conclusive evidence to support that accusation. However, if he is clean, why not prove it through RANDOM testing and be done with it? With the agreement to do so, he shuts up the accusers and improves the integrity of the sport at the same tine.

This aint a weight thing. Its about a style thing

You're talking out of your ass, just like the rest of the *****s.

Can Martinez weigh-in at 150 lbs. like Margarito did? Margarito weighed 165 at fight night. How much did Sergio weigh against Paul Williams?

Pac has already agreed to ALL conditions. He said so himself. Arum also made it clear that they accepted all of Haymon's demands during the last negotiations, but Floyd didn't have the urge. *****s keep on harping on this dead issue since they have nothing else to hold on to. It's getting stale.

                  sad
All this shows is that haters will always find a way to belittle Pac's accomplishments. Sad for them.

listen, i'm all for those tests as well.

but guess what, if he succumbed to those tests and passed them, do you think this pac hate is gonna stop?

                    guess again.

it's not gonna stop with the tests.

ppl are just sticking to the tests right now because it's one aspect where his avid followers really can't shake the haters off.
