What did you guys think of 'Ali'?

Was just watching the movie again for the 3rd time...I forgot how inspiring the movie was especially with Ali beating Foreman in the final fight shown in the movie...this is the type of movie that makes you say "Man, I want to be like Ali"

Overall, again I feel the movie was good...I loved how they handled the actual boxing craft in the movie and the shooting of it...I also liked how they focused more on Ali the man and not solely on Boxing...they focused on the most important fights of his career with signifigance to his story...I was somewhat disappointed to not see anything of the Thrilla in Manilla...but I felt leaving off with Foreman was just...

Without Ali boxing would have never reached the people it has nor would it have the impact on society it has had, the guy is a true ****in' legend in all senses of the word. How many people tried boxing because they saw Muhammed fight? How many people that haven't a clue about the fight game love Ali? How many champions have looked at what the man accomplished to inspire to their greatness. What Muhammed has done for the game is, give it love, respect admiration, and fear even by the weak, and millions of other gifts. Muhammed is a Legend and anyone who says otherwise has no respect for the game !!!

They tried to cram too much in one movie and left too much unexplained. They glossed over a number of significant events, and like many biopics, everything happened too conveniently and the order of some stuff was altered to make it more viewable.

Will Smith, Jamie Foxx, and Jon Voight saved this film...

Really, they should have stopped the film at the first Frazier fight and planned on a sequel - good thinking before the movie came out to less than impressive box office. It was like the Foreman fight was an after thought. This would have made a better two night 4-5 hr. miniseries than a feature film. Still, Smith, Foxx, and Voight were fun to watch.

I'd be lying if I said it wasn't quite a disappointment, though.
