Comments Thread For: Glenn Tapia Learns a Hard Lesson Sparring With Pacquiao

Just days before he was set to head out to the Philippines to help assist Manny Pacquiao in training for his November 13th clash with Antonio Margarito, New Jersey’s Glen Tapia was a man full of curiosity. A long time fan of the Filipino star, Tapia seemed to realize just how surreal the moment was for his blossoming career. I talked to the Passaic native about his ubringing in life and his learning lessons in the sport of boxing and he became an easy man to root for after taking in our ten minute conversation.

So this is why Tapia was cleaning Pac's balls with his mouth yesterday.

...but I'll be nice to Tapia, he's been through a lot.

100% of the time sparring partners will be amazed/suprised/(insert_here) on the first sparring encounter.

uhm.. not many prospects with a 7-0 record get to spar with the best boxer in the sport.
You would be giving him lots of praise too if he gave you the honor.
Sparring Pacquiao alone is getting the guy exposure.

Pac is always seeming to have a hard time in sparring according to videos and the media. Then when fight night comes around, dudes seem to get scared and shell up, get dropped a couple times in the ring, get ko'd, or tko'd- I'm not putting too much stock into it. By next week, the reports will be saying that no one can last 3 rds with him

none of the fighters are scared of each other. this is a business sport and mayweather will whoop both pac and tapia. but pacquiao will spank the cheater cheato.

Good work from the kid. And I'm happy for the oppurtunity presented to him by having the chance to spar with Pac. But he aint tell us nothin we aint already know. Pac always turns his opponents to look for and create new angles and openings, it's called Boxing. Bend at the waist when he turns you and slip the punch, if you see it coming. Nothing new here.

lol. He has a hard time because he's trying to adjust to the game plan. That, and he wouldn't put his 100% effort into sparring.
