I hate that this thread turned into a Williams-Martinez discussion. When the posters who turned it that way have never seen the Poon fight before.

Huge upset. Im sure a rematch is in place. If anyone has the footage shoot it to me.

Well he was actually the best. And, maybe if they had a rematch who knows what happens.

I do know one thing Poonsawat would beat the breaks of WV2.

I would fear for Jr life in that fight.

              5'4 vs 5'8

No doubt height was a factor.

Take a look at the fight at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZbSHqy0CDY

I watched the fight myself last night here in Japan, and I say the scores were firm and fair. Poon was more aggressive going forward and forward and Lee was more effective in landing clear cut counters. No matter how the 118 -110 scorecard seems, it was Lee who to my eye won the fight. No hometown decision. The bout was called right down the middle, period.

The rematch should take place after the new champ takes on some light opposition, and it should happen in Thailand. If Lee convincingly defeated Poon once again, a unification between WBC titlist Nishioka and himself will expected and sought for. That will make 2011 sweet for a JP boxing run.

Yeah, provided Nishioka gets past Rendall Munroe later this month.

And thanks, will check out the fight

Lost some money on this fight. Really thought Poon would have had this.

Also, i don't see Munroe winning in Japan. I don't think the judging is that corrupt, but Nishioka is no joke, and i think Munroe has finally met his conqueror. I'm rooting for the bin man 100%, but my money is on Nishioka.

Everyone has to go down someties I guess. Hozumi finally went down after a long run. Now it's the Poon's turn.
