Anybody feel like a Sergio Martinez win over Paul Williams is better for boxing?

And the reason I ask that is because if Williams wins it means that he's automatically gonna vacate the title to move back down in weight to 147 (like he's saying) and fight in a division that isn't as deep in talent like 154 and 160 is. I usually don't get down on Paul for wanting to fight at 147 because of the size factor because if he makes the weight he makes the weight. But 147 is a no man's land and it seems like that's the real reason Williams wants to move down there to get away from tough competition.

Middleweight isn't flooded with talent either in my view like 154 is. But you still got Pirog and Ferando Guerrero and the guys right now at 154 will probably move up there eventually like Kirkland, Lara, Angulo, and Alvarez. The fact that Martinez wants to establish himself is a reason to root for him in this fight.

Oh now that Burner is bringing up Pacquiao he doesn't even fight at Welterweight anymore. And Floyd is going up the river. So pretty much there's gotta be some other reason Mr. Doin big thangs you knaaamsayin is moving down to 147.

I'm kinda hoping for another really, really good fight razor close and martinez gets the win, that way then they can have a trilogy.

I don't think whoever wins is going to be the reigning MW champ for that long though, maybe a year or two.

For the record I have money on Martinez winning but I want Williams to win.

I want a good fight without a judge having lopsided, money in the backpocket scores. I don't see Martinez fighting lesser comp if he should win, his track record as of late suggests that he is willing to take on the best. Williams, I don't know what his future holds. He is only interested in fighting Mayweather or Pac, one of which is out the mix for a while. I don't think Williams likes the idea of fighting over 154 for some reason, so I don't really know who he plans on fighting next if he wins- it sure won't be Pac, that is just too much of a mismatch in size.

Well if Sergio wins theres apossible 3rd fight floating, and if Williams loses and looks bad it might make Mayweather or Pacquiao more interested i fighting him...so in a way Sergio winning might have some benefits, Im rootin for Sergio anyhow.

Not only that but if Williams did stay put for a fight or two at 154 until a superfight came aloing at 147 or he had another option you know Williams isn't fighting another top 154'lber because they're not "name" enough for him. Kirkland, Angulo, Dzinziruk. Perhaps Cotto is the only guy he'd be willing to fight but i don't see Cotto taking that.

MW is a good division but same thing, there is no names for this prissy no name to fight.
