Either Alexander Dimitrenko or Derek Chisora will likely be Wlad's opponent on Dec 11

    From Dan Rafael today:

    • Heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KOs) is still in the market for an opponent when he makes his 10th title defense on Dec. 11 in Germany. Manager Bernd Boente told ESPN.com that the two leading candidates to get the fight are Alexander Dimitrenko and Derek Chisora. Dimitrenko (30-1, 20 KOs), who is based in Germany but, like Klitschko, is from Ukraine, suffered his only loss to Eddie Chambers in a July 2009 title eliminator. Chambers went on to face Klitschko in his next fight, and was dominated before being brutally knocked out in the 12th round. Dimitrenko, 6-foot-7 and 260 pounds, has a thin résumé but matches up well physically with Klitschko. England's Chisora (14-0, 9 KOs) is inexperienced, but he has back-to-back knockouts against opponents known in England -- a ninth-round knockout of Sam Sexton on Sept. 18 and a second-round knockout of former title challenger Danny Williams, who was stopped by Klitschko in a title fight but owns a knockout win against Mike Tyson. Boente said if terms are not reached with either of those fighters, former cruiserweight champ Jean-Marc Mormeck of France is back in the picture.
Either Chisora or Dimitrenko would be okay as a stay-busy opponent.

However, in my opinion, Mormeck or Welliver would not make for interesting fights (there have been other reports Chauncy is also being considered, but only as a last resort).

If that is his only 2 options right now.

Then I prefer he fights Alexander Dimitrenko. He deserves the fight more. I think he is also the better fighter of the two and the more credible. I wanted Vitaly to fight him instead of Briggs but what can you do?

I would be disappointed in Wlad if he picks Chisora after fighting a guy like Peter. That would be back-to-back crappy fights for him just Vitaly has right now.

However, Dimitrenko is credible. That fight I would like to see.

The IBF said they would not sanction Toney as an opponent, since he hasn't fught in more than a year.

I wouldn't mind seeing Wlad face Dimitrenko. I think because Dimitrenko is similar in size and fights orthdox, Wlad would have a much easier target in front of him (than usual) and it would be a nice change to see him not have to punch 'downwards.'

                  back to back??? BWA HAHAHAHAHAH.
how bout back to back years he's been fighting crappy opponents,
                  not his fault.
but don't give unjust credit to wlad for the clowns he's had to face.
unlike thread starter who hypes wlads opponents.

No, Chambers and Chagaev were good opponents.

Vitaly fighting Peter in his comeback and then Arreola were good opponents.

Is not unjust credit. They deserve credit for those wins.

So I don't agree with the back-to-back crappy opponents for years statement.

The HW division as a whole is crappy besides the K Bros. However you can only fight the top fighters of your division and of your era. Is not their fault.

And, they have fought top fighters. But, lately Vitaly is Briggs which is crap especially after fighting Sosnowski another crappy fighter. But, coming from a long layoff to fight Peter, JC Gomez and Arreola is nothing crappy about that.

Wlad fighting Chagaev, Chambers, and maybe Dimitrenko is nothing crappy about that. However, fighting Peter and maybe Chisora then yes crappy.

So there is no unjust credit going anywhere. I am giving them the amount of credit I think they deserve and you just hating just to hate.
