yes cuts are usual, but boxing with headgear and sparring gloves is VERY different from fighting with non-sparring gloves.

And you can get knocked down not knocked out, and it usually happens because the punches that hit your head and make you brain rattle causing a lack of balance. Those punches are very different from the ones that hit solid on the chin or jaw during a regular fight.
