If you're down about a not so great 2010, look on the bright side...

For starters, the end of the year is loaded with great fights, damn near every week.

But really, 2010 has been kind of a "rebuilding" year so to speak - so much young talent making names for themselves and big fights are brewing. 2011 is going to be huge. Think about it:

    Bradley vs Alexander
    Khan (or Maidina) vs Bradley/Alexander/Ortiz
    Gamboa vs Lopez
    Super Six
    Cotto vs Chavez
    Pirog vs Paul Williams/Martinez
    James Kirkland
    Rigondeaux
    Pacquiao vs Mayweather?!?
    Nonito Donaire vs Montiel
    Klitschko vs David Haye?!?
Pascal and/or Hopkins vs Chad Dawson
    Saul Alvarez
    Andre Berto vs Molsey/Cotto
    Alfredo Angulo
    Lucian Bute
    Tavoris Cloud
    Alexander Povetkin vs a Klitschko?
    Tomasz Adamek
    Denis Boytsov

And there is a lot more. Honestly, 2010 was kind of necessary it's going to set 2011 to be a huge year for boxing fans

Most of the fights will fall through due to financial issues, injuries, fear, ducking, etc. The sport of boxing is in a major **** hole right about now. I guarantee half those fights will not take place in 2011. The sport needs Margarito right about now.

No it wasn't. Stop making excuses for a ****ty business abusing its fans.

As for Dawson, why is he fighting for a title immediately after a loss? Shouldn't he get back to the end of the line?

The brightest thing about 2011 though might be that Hopkins will finally be forced out of boxing by Pascal.

        Let the good times roll.

Khan, Bradley, Alexander, etc., none of these guys were stars at the start of 2010. Now they are becoming bigger names. So yeah, I think there is truth in what I say, you gotta start somewhere with young guys and they are being built up nicely.

You have to realize most of the stars in boxing are and have been old guys. Mosley, Oscar, Hopkins, Marquez, etc. There is a transition from the last great generation to the new generation of stars. That's the way I look at it.

As for Dawson, why is he fighting for a title immediately after a loss? Shouldn't he get back to the end of the line?
he has a rematch clause in his contract with Pascal (which does allow pascal to take an option fight first). Being the way the fight ended, I don't see why there shouldn't be a rematch anyways.

The brightest thing about 2011 though might be that Hopkins will finally be forced out of boxing by Pascal.
              Keep dreaming!

Those guys have peaked. Its time for them to stop pussyfooting around and get it overwith already. They're worst than a ****** tease. Holding out for no good reason. They're not going to be any more dynamic in the ring or out of it, all they're doing is acting like primadonna's and pissing everyone off.

Cuz' Dawson lost most of the rounds pretty clearly and fought like a dud.

That's what they were saying about Dawson/Pascal. Some people prefer to learn the hard way.
