Finally getting to watch some fights.........

Since my stroke I've been watching a ton of fights. Here are some observations that I made from them.

Say what to want about the man with the dog fighting but Gerald McClellan the fighter was one bad ass m-fer.

Joe Calzaghe (bad spell) could not turn a hook over if his life depended on it. His opponents always end up cut and swollen. Well, thats what the palm of a glove will do to you.

Got to watch a bunch of James Toneys fights from middle and super middle. James had some great moves at that weight. He is honestly one of the best supermiddles that I've seen. That was his best weight. Watching him at heavyweight turns my stomach.

    Stevie Johnston, bad little man.

Cudos to Anthony Jones in his bout against Rosario. While he didn't win he was pushing that tough Puerto Rican backwards. Had him teedering on one leg from a great hook shortly before Anthony got stopped. I threw punches with this guy, he's so slick. Fun guy to be around.

Oh yeah, on Toney again. Watched his State Title bout vs Phillip Moorefield. While James still would have beaten Moorefield at his best those body shots werent that great. Moorefield was on his first fight back after surgery on his kidney or liver, he just hadn't fully recovered and did not take enough time to rebuild the area.

Watched alot of amatuer bouts too. Ricky Womack was a monster. His rubber matches with Evander to get to the olympics were great bouts.

I also found myself admiring Shane Mosely. Great style and skills and he fought 'em all.

Dwight Davison had some great power in his right. People just didnt like that he was a true boxer rather than a brawler. Spent some time with him. Just a humble and super nice guy. You'd never even figure him to be a fighter, let alone the #1 contender for so many years and years waiting for his chance against then Middleweight king Marvin Hagler. Sad thing that he never got his chance................Rockin'

Did I mention that Joe Calzaghe slaps too much.............Rockin'
