do you guys think he could make this weight?
i mean he may be too small for the real big hw
and at cruiser theres just no money
    so i was thinkin
    could he have made LHW?

I think he could, he became the best boxer of 1996 Olympics at LHW, beating Tarver in semi-finals.

He has a "light" body type and he is not tall. The extra weight hurts him and is not natural to him.

Of course, Vasiliy knows better, and I am just speculating.

i thought LHW was meant for him, thats where he should have been in the 1st place. He would be a better light heavy than he is cruiser and heavy.

I can't imagine he could get that low now. Perhaps if he had started right out of the amateurs, with a lot of dicipline (I'm not saying he doesn't have that) he could have kept his weight that low. But after fighting most of his career at 190, and now his last two fights closing in on 220, there's no way. Like you guys said though, that's too bad...

I'll go off on a tangent here, and say that the LHW and CW divisions will never be what they can be, until there's a much stronger and deeper field of HW's to discourage the smaller guys.

              You know

              with him

I bet he can still do it!

(not that i want him to cause well he doesn't need to get down in weight to beat up small guys he knows he can take)

it won't be easy but he has the rigid discipline and work ethic to pull it off.

First of all it will take alot of dedication and most importantly time in order to get used to the weight.
perhaps a year or so of specific training in order to gradually come down in weight, and then take up boxing slowly to see if his body can sustain him for 12 against small guys,

I think if done correctly its possible,

not what Jones did against Ruiz and tarver but i imagine a smarter way
              it can be done.

Lots of running and training and a good diet (not starving but you know less bread and so on a good nutrionist and doctor is key)
he has a skinny frame and his stomach although defined for the Moorer fight was jutting out a bit instead of being tucked behind his ribs like it used to be for the cruiser fights.

                He can.

I believe he can still succeed at HW.

seed ats also why i thoguht he could stil go back down to 175
i know his frame cold def handle hit
even at cruiser he alwasy looked like he could shave off a few lbs
                  but like i said
at this stage of his career and not haveing,as i believe lampley once said, a self preserving fightin style
i just dont know if he could make 175
but i think hed def be a force to be reckoned with

well i just looked up his record
and the lightest hes ever weigh in at
                    was 186
                    and that was only once
                    and 188 a couple times
so it might be a lil tough for him
but i think he might be able to make 180
whats the heavy limit for lhw?
