Comments Thread For: Glen Johnson Could Replace Mikkel Kessler, Face Green

BoxingScene.com was advised by promoter Lou DiBella that there are ongoing discussions with Showtime to have Glen Johnson (50-14, 34KOs) replace the injured Mikkel Kessler in the Super Six tournament. Johnson, a former light heavyweight champion, has not made the super middleweight limit of 168-pounds since 2000. DiBella says Johnson is confident of being able to make the division limit without struggling.

It'd be a good payday for Johnson, and he deserves it...

BUT at 168, an old and weight drained Johnson gets handled in a wide UD for Green.

I think you are vastly overrating Green.

If Johnson can successfully and healthily make 168, I think he'd stop Green. I think the Johnson who fought Cloud and the Johnson who fought Yusef Mack beats Green and does it with room to spare.

                    definitely

panda liked the idea of the semi final better instead of adding another fight to the third stage though

wasnt green complaining he couldnt make the weight properly for ward and told him he was going to move up? why have two weight drained fighters in the ring

                    makes no sense
